Week 2 Reflection

What : On Wednesday we went to the gym. First we went in and sat on the big bouncy mat to meet our new instructor. His name was Leo. My two favorite parts about going to the gym are jumping on the trampoline and falling into the foam pit. We have also done art this week. For art we have been doing print making. For print making we got a A4 piece of paper folded it in half and then unfolded it and then we painted patterns on one side of the paper. When we had finished painting our patterns we folded it in half and then smoshed it together then we unfolded them and there was one big pattern. We also done a activity for our habit of mind witch is thinking and communicating with clarity and precision.

So What : This week I have learnt to find a fraction of a set by equal sharing.

Now What : My goal for next week is to keep on staying on task and handing my work in on time.

Going to the Museum

This morning Room 15 and 6 went to the museum. When we went inside Room 15 went into a big bubble that you could go inside of. It was really cool and it was called the cosmodome. room 6 went into another room that was basically right next door to us. They talked about celebrating the Maori New Year with Awhina. It was cool when I got inside the cosmodome because their was a data projector that was shinning the night sky and stars onto the roof of the cosmodome. I really liked the cosmodome because it made you feel like you were actually in space. next we went into the other room with Awhina. She talked to us aout the Maori New Year. they celebrate it with eel, kumara, birds and lots more.

Our New Habit of Mind

Room 15 have recently started a new habit of mind which is striving for accuracy. We all sat down together and said a few things about what we think striving for accuracy means. We thought that it means giving everything a 100% and always being good.

Our Awesome Visitors

Today we had some great visitors come to our school and talk to us about the Westpac Trust Helicopter. The people that came in were Frank Bunce, a man that is a Westpac Helicopter pilot and some other sponsors from the Westpac Trust. The reason why they came in was to try to enncourage use to donate to Westpac Trust. We also got a class photo with Frank Bunce and his signature.

Be Funky

Today Mrs Larsen showed us a website called befunky. It's really cool. To do it you put in a picture of yourself and then you can mess around with the effects and colors. Here's one of mine.
